LAN Authentication

The NET2GRID gateway also allows HTTP connections from client devices in the same local area network (LAN). For the HTTP requests to be serviced, the client must provide a token in the HTTP header. This feature can be enabled or disabled according to the customer's requirements.

As previously described, the LAN token is randomly generated on the gateway device and reported to the NET2GRID platform via the secured platform connection. A new token is generated every 24 hours, and each generated token is valid for 48 hours.

For a client device to access the LAN HTTP server, it must first recover the LAN token from the NET2GRID platform using the account authentication credentials. The gateway rejects outdated or invalid LAN tokens with HTTP error code 401 (Access Denied).
